Family Law

We provide a full range of legal services surrounding family law, including divorce, and child support.

Transparent Fees

*Note that the fees listed below are typical but may not apply to every case. We reserve the right to decline any case due to potential conflicts of interest or if the case is not a good fit for our practice

  • Contested Divorce in Whitman, Latah, Nez Perce or Asotin Counties:
$5,000 Advance Fee Deposit billed at $325/hr of attorney time. Client responsible for costs. Advance Fee Deposit means that the funds are deposited into our trust account, and the attorney fees are billed against the funds in trust as they are incurred. In divorce cases in particular, time is money. The more complex the case, the more it will cost. If the case is concluded and the funds have not been exhausted, the remaining funds in trust will be returned. If the case is not concluded and the funds in trust have been exhausted, additional funds will need to be deposited for attorney’s representation to continue.
  • Mediation:
$250/hr. Consistent with his belief that quick, affordable resolutions to family law matters are generally preferable to long, expensive, drawn out litigation, Andy is a huge proponent of mediation and it is required in both Whitman County and Asotin County prior to going to trial.
The mediation process involves both opposing parties spending part of a day with a neutral mediator (in this case, Andy), usually in separate rooms, to attempt to resolve some or all of their issues out of court. The work of a good mediator involves listening to both parties’ perspectives and trying to achieve a compromise to allow them to move on with their lives. With over two decades of family law experience, Andy is uniquely qualified to assist the parties in achieving this.
  • Contested Divorce in Whitman, Latah, Nez Perce or Asotin Counties:
    $5,000 Advance Fee Deposit
Billed at $325 per hour for attorney time. The client is also responsible for any additional costs. The Advance Fee Deposit is placed into our trust account, and attorney fees are billed against the funds in trust as they are incurred. In divorce cases, in particular, time is of the essence—complex cases will incur higher costs. If the case concludes and there are remaining funds in the trust, those funds will be refunded. However, if the case remains ongoing and the funds in trust are exhausted, additional funds will be required for continued representation.
  • Mediation:
    $250/hr.
Andy offers professional mediation services aimed at helping families find amicable resolutions to complex issues. With a focus on clear communication and mutual understanding, he works to guide parties through difficult decisions in a constructive and respectful environment. Andy’s mediation services provide an efficient, cost-effective alternative to prolonged litigation, helping families move forward with less stress and greater peace of mind.
